DISCOVERING CAREERS: AN AFTERNOON AT THE FARM AND ORGANIC STORE
On November 9th, Votre Cercle de Vie opened its doors for the Journée Oser Tous les Métiers (JOM). For the third consecutive year, our family business is committed to broadening the horizons of younger generations by actively participating in this meaningful event.
Five young girls had the unique opportunity to discover the world of our biodynamic farm with Nicolas. At the barn, they learned about the daily life of animals, witnessed the milking of cows, and followed the process of milk transformation until it was sold at the milk dispenser in front of our organic store. They even had the chance to get hands-on by making a dairy product that they could replicate at home.
On the other side, three young boys were immersed in the field of selling farm-fresh, local, and organic products at Votre Cercle de Vie's store with Gwenaëlle. They were introduced to the intricacies of commerce, putting into practice their skills in communication, customer service, and labeling. This experience challenged gender stereotypes related to career choices and demonstrated that opportunities are vast and varied.
At Votre Cercle de Vie, we are proud to participate in creating these meaningful experiences that inspire youth to consider careers beyond traditional gender boundaries. JOM day is organized by the Equality Office between Women and Men of the Canton of Vaud in collaboration with the Directorate General of Compulsory Education. Its objective is to introduce professional fields to students from 7th to 9th grade, beyond sectors still traditionally associated with either femininity or masculinity.
