Hotel & Sustainable Development Goals

The intention of the current project is to participate in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) within the scope of our activities and areas.

Before the opening of the buildings in 2023, certain goals will be defined so that we can actively participate in the implementation of the SDGs.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the new frame of reference for the approach towards global sustainable development. It was unanimously adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.

What are the goals for sustainable development?

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its seventeen goals are expected to form an ambitious operational plan for the international community until 2030.

The 17 SDGs are integrated - recognising the fact that interventions in one area will influence outcomes in other areas and that this development should balance social, economic and environmental aspects.

They are designed as universal signposts in order to create a viable world, i.e. a world based on ideas of harmony with nature, prosperity, peace, and partnership.

HOTEL

Tourism has an influence on climate change and is itself affected by it. It, therefore, plays a major role in the search for solutions in connection with climate change. Sustainable tourism is firmly anchored in the 2030 agenda.

The project of the sector "Hotel" is particularly interested in the implementation of the following SDGs:

Alignment with sustainable development goals:

SDG 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere

  • Generate income by creating jobs on a local and community level, thus promoting economic growth and development in all sectors.

SDG 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

  • Promote the production, use, and sale of local products in tourism destinations and their full integration into the tourism value chain.

SDG 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

  • Ensure water supply, sanitation, and hygiene services for all. Rational use of water resources, combined with appropriate measures in the areas of health security, waste management, pollution control and technological efficiency.

SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all

  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, mitigation of climate change.

SDG 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

  • Development of skills and careers, especially for young people and women.

SDG 10: Reduce inequalities within and among countries

  • Be an effective tool for the development of the community and reduce inequalities by involving the local population and all key players in the development.

SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

  • Use of monitoring tools to assess the impact of sustainable tourism, which creates jobs and enhances the value of local culture and products, on its sustainable development.

SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

  • Energy consumption through renewable energy sources.

SDG 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

  • Strengthen public-private partnerships and mobilise a wide range of players on a national, regional and local level in order to work towards sustainable development as well as other common objectives.
