Organic Shop & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The current project is intended to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the framework of our activities and sectors.

Before the opening of the buildings in 2023, certain goals will be defined so that we can actively participate in the implementation of the SDGs.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the new frame of reference for the approach towards global sustainable development. It was unanimously adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.

What are the goals for sustainable development?

The sustainable development programme and the seventeen goals that go with it are expected to form an ambitious operational plan for the international community until 2030.

The 17 SDGs are integrated - recognising the fact that interventions in one area will influence outcomes in other areas and that this development should balance social, economic, and environmental aspects.

They are designed as universal signposts in order to create a viable world, i.e. a world based on ideas of harmony with nature, prosperity, peace, and partnership.

Organic Shop

The organic shop project is particularly interested in the implementation of the following 2 SDGs:

ALIGNMENT WITH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:

SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

  • We promote organic and nutritious food and reduce the usage of conventional chemicals that are harmful to both people and the environment.

  • We partner with local farmers in order to bring fresh organic food to consumers, which means that no pesticides or GMOs are used. This makes the food tastier and healthier.

SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

  • Globally halve the amount of food waste per capita on a distribution and consumption level and reduce food losses throughout the production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses.

  • Significantly reduce the generation of waste by means of prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.

  • Ensure that people around the world have all the information and knowledge necessary for sustainable development and a lifestyle in harmony with nature.

  • Local products are synonymous with a reduction in transport and CO2 emissions. Avoiding packaging reduces waste production and buying just the amount you actually need helps to avoid food waste and furthermore stimulates the local economy.
